Moving For Change announces newly commissioned projects benefiting roadside communities for 2023
Today, Moving for Change can announce four newly commissioned projects. These projects, commissioned at the end of 2022, have been chosen for their importance in benefitting Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities living roadside in a number of ways.
The following projects are set to take place from January 2023 onwards:
- Kushti Boks’ Welfare Packs for Travellers aims to provide useful advice to those living roadside, while creating bridges between community and non-community members.
- Churches Network’s Sanctuary Stopping Place will develop the concept of Gypsy and Traveller friendly churches by mid-2023, in order to expand the idea throughout the next two years.
- London Gypsy Traveller’s Negotiated Stopping in London project looks to build the capacity for nomadic Gypsy and Traveller people to participate in decision making processes and improve the situations of housing and negotiated stopping.
- Community Law Partnership will continue to host their Traveller Advice Team helpline.
Dr Lynne Tammi-Connelly, Head of Network and Commissiong Spoke at Moving For Change, said:
“I am pleased to see the diversity of projects commissioned. They have the ability to bring about real and sustainable change for the communities that we support.”
