The world of media can at first appear to be a daunting one. The constant fluctuations in social media, the race to respond to immediate events and the need to ensure your voice gets heard in the right places.

Add to this the jargon of SEOs, interactions and verticals and what at first appeared to be a simple press release has become a miasma of beartraps and quicksands.

So, here at MfC, we’re putting together a page – this one! – of tips, hints, links and strategies to help being clarity to confusion, comprehension to communication.

It’s going to be an ever-expanding set of resources, so be sure to check in on a regular basis to see what else might have been added.

But, if you have a query that none of this has covered (yet), then simply email [email protected] and we’ll get back to you with a bespoke set of suggestions.

Now, onward…

NEON PRESS OFFICER
HANDBOOK

The New Economy Organisers’ Network may seem like a mouthful, but they have their hands filled with fabulous resources for any social justice campaigner.

Check them out on their website for anything from how to communicate with Westminster to dealing with AI to the PCSC Act.

To get started, though, you can do littler better than to download their Press Officer handbook. Packed with tips, hints and facts about communications and strategies, it may be a little dated in some of its statistics (Reform were still UKIP in 2022) but it’s an essential primer in press pack procedure…
