In 2023, Irish Traveller architect Darren Ward was commissioned by MfC to create a vision for the future of Gypsy and Traveller accommodation.
The plan was to make transit and permanent sites more culturally pertinent and to facilitate a nomadic way of life, as well as ensuring they are more considered for the environments they are designed for and appropriate for the people who use them.
This is the result.
Through workshops, questionnaires and discussions with representatives of the communities, we believe Darren has created a truly groundbreaking proposal.
